Good afternoon,
I’m currently working on a mining evaluation for the railway line that runs across, and on either side of the Menai Strait. We hold records of what is believed to be wells on either side of the bridge, but are looking for more information relating to the site relating to any potential voids or cavities related to mining or dissolution of the rock, or mine entries such as shafts or adits. Likewise, I’ve got a subsequent site along the railway in Bodorgan, southwest Anglesey which we know to have been mined, but looking for any additional information relating to voids which may pose a risk to the railway infrastructure.
I’ve been advised you might hold local records on such features and was wondering if you could inform me whether you know of any such voids at those two sites please?
